The average weight of conventional, complete dentures or the All-on-Four™ prosthesis can be an uncomfortable  and unanticipated burden for many. Studies have shown that a “mouth full” of heavy acrylic gums increases leverage inside the mouth which can overtax supporting structures. In particular, the weight of the maxillary denture (top arch) can frequently lead to loss of retention due to gravity.
